CLARIFICATION OF ADVERTISING FOR FROZEN SEMEN FOR EXPORT
The stallion Sea Quest completed 60 days quarantine in Ontario to freeze semen for export.
This 2008 batch has produced two live foals, and was frozen by an affiliate of SBS in Canada. It is certified by the Federal Veterinarian for use in Canada and the countries of The European Union, including Great Britain. There is no frozen semen certified for use in Australia or South Africa, as has been previously advertised elsewhere. Nor is there semen presently certified for New Zealand. However, as Sea Quest met the 60 day quarantine in Ontario, a derogation may be applied for to export to NZ  at a later date.  The tests of the stallion in November and December 2010 did not have appropriate 'chain of custody', and their validity has not been independently confirmed. .Please note that the frozen semen advertised online in Virginia, has NOT been certified by USDA in Richmond, VA for export. It is a different batch; it  was NOT frozen by SBS, nor to their proprietary formula. This non SBS-frozen semen has NOT been tested as to producing a live foal with DNA  confirmation.  A letter from USDA  dated Feb 11, 2011, reconfirms their lack of records as to the frozen semen  listed online in Virginia. It is also advertised   with an unauthorized copyrighted photo of the stallion . The sale and/ or use of the frozen semen in Virginia is encumbered by an ongoing legal dispute wherein expensive 'quarantine' was billed to the stallion owner, but the resulting frozen semen is for domestic use only (not export).
